About
I draw, paint and make prints. Inspiration usually comes from something seen in my immediate surroundings, either indoors or outside. Drawing is the first step. This helps me to think and to plan how to proceed, perhaps with a print or maybe a painting, or sometimes both if I am working in series. Printmakiing processes such as etching, drypoint , aquatint and monoprint allow plenty of scope for exploration and experimentation, sometimes with unexpected results. When painting I mostly like ‘Still Life’ subjects andI particularly like using colour but, of course, there are many other elements to consider. The difficulty is in knowing when a painting is finished.
